This kurma is so simple and ready within 10 minutes. No coconut, no ginger-garlic paste no grinding..so easy rt?? This kurma is perfect for idly,dosa,paniyaram. My mom used to make this kurma when we don't have power at home or when we are out of more vegetable n other stuff at home. This recipe involves simple ingredients n procedure but tastes great. Try this u will love it!!
Ingredients
- Onion 1 no.(chopped)
- Tomato 2 no.s(chopped)
- Garlic 2 cloves(crushed)
- Curry leaves few
- Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
- Clove 2 no.
- Cinnamon 1/2" piece
- Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
- Curry Masala powder or garam masala 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder a pinch
- besan/Gram flour 1-2 tsp
- Salt as needed
- Oil 2 tsp
Method
- Heat oil in a pan,add fennel seeds,clove,cinnamon allow to pop,add crushed garlic,curry leaves and chopped onions.
- Fry till onion turns golden brown and add chopped tomatoes and saute till tomatoes become soft and mushy.
- Then add all the fry powder and stir fry for a minute and add 1/2-3/4 cup of water,add enough salt mix well and allow to boil
- Meanwhile in a small bowl add 1-2 tsp of besan flour mix with a tablespoon of water and make it a thick smooth paste then dissolve it with 1/4 cup water and keep aside.
- When the onion-tomato gravy starts boiling add this besan water and keep stirring.
- And simmer it for 2 minutes and add some chopped coriander leaves and take away from the stove.
- Thats all..Kurma is ready for idly/dosa.
Note:
Do not add besan flour directly into the gravy...if u feel it thick after adding besan water,add few tablespoon water and adjust to ur desired consistency.
