Kadai Paneer / Kadai Paneer Recipe ~ Restaurant Style

Kadai Paneer, One of the Easiest Paneer recipe i have tried so far. Kadai Paneer is nothing but a simply, mild spicy & flavorful side dish using Paneer & Bell Pepper/Capsicum with the prepared kadai masala. And the most important part is this dish should be prepared in a kadai/wok. Sounds interesting right? Kadai Paneer is a very quick stir fry like recipe which is made in a Kadai. And thus it got the name "Kadai Paneer". I have tasted this recipe in Indian Restaurants here but recently tried this at home and loved it a lot. Because of fat content & calorie conscious i reduced cooking Paneer, but my kids love paneer a lot and also to feed my blog baby few weeks back tried it. I got the recipe from Dassana's Veg Recipes of India. I slightly tweaked the recipe by adding few finely chopped onions and it turned out so good. Thanks to Dassana for this wonderful recipe, it tasted just like that of Restaurant Kadai Paneer. Lets move on the recipe quickly...

Ingredients
  1. Paneer / Indian cottage cheese    200gm (cut into cubes)
  2. Onion    1 medium or 1/4 cup (finely chopped or sliced)
  3. Tomato   3 no.s or 3/4  cup (finely chopped)
  4. Capsicum/Bell pepper    1 medium(julienned or diced)
  5. Ginger       1" piece (crushed)
  6. Garlic       2 fat cloves (crushed)
  7. Garam Masala Powder    1/2 tsp or less
  8. Kasoori Methi / Dried Methi leaves     1 tsp (crushed)
  9. Salt    to taste
  10. Cilantro     few finely chopped
  11. Ginger   1" piece (julienned)
  12. Oil    1 tbsp
To Dry Roast & Grind
  1. Dry Red chilli    3 no.s
  2. Coriander seeds    1 tbsp

Method
  • First heat a pan, dry roast chilli n coriander seeds for a minute in medium heat then pulse it in a blender for few seconds, make it a coarse mixture.
  • Then heat oil in a kadai/wok, when its heated add crushed ginger and garlic and stir fry till raw smell leaves.
  • After that add finely chopped onions and saute until it turns golden brown.
  • Then add finely chopped tomatoes, sprinkle little salt and saute until the tomatoes turn soft n mushy.
  • Now add the ground chilli-coriander mixture, garam masala powder and stir fry for a minute.
  • And then add capsicum and stir fry for a minute.
  • After that add paneer cubes, kasoori methi, enough salt and gently combine everything and stir fry for a minute.
  • Lastly add finely chopped cilantro & ginger julienne and switch off the stove.
  • That's it..Delicious & Flavorful Kadai Paneer ready. Serve hot with rotis / Naan / Pulao.
