Carrot Halwa - My 100th Post


       Celebrating my 100th post with The Traditional Indian sweet and V's favorite Carrot Halwa. Today My Blog is 60days old with 100 recipesI cant believe, really I am very happy. It wouldn't happen without my Friend's support and encouragement. My Very Special Thanks to Anitha, Asha, Balaaji, Vasuki, Prabha, Priya Sendil. Thank you Guys for your encouragement and appreciation. Last but not the least I Thank My family for all the help and support. Now off to the recipe..
Ingredients
  1. Milk    3 cups
  2. Carrot   1 cup or 3 no.s(shredded)
  3. Cardamom powder    1/2 tsp or crush 4 no.s
  4. Sugar    1/2 cup
  5. Nuts & Raisins   as needed
  6. Ghee    1/4 cup or as needed
    
Method
  • Take a heavy bottomed vessel, add milk and allow to boil the milk in high flame with occasional stirring.The quantity of the milk should be reduced to half and get little thick and keep aside.
  • Heat ghee or butter in a non-stick pan, then add the shredded carrots and stir fry for 3-4 minutes.
  • Then pour the boiled milk to the stir fried carrots and cook in medium flame till all the milk absorbed and dried to a thick paste.
  • Once all the milk get absorbed add sugar and stir it well.
  • when sugar get completely dissolved add cardamom powder and couple of spoons of  ghee mix everything well and keep stirring until halwa starts leave the sides of the pan.
  • Heat 1-2 tbsp ghee and fry nuts and raisins and add to the halwa.
  • Now the Carrot Halwa is ready and garnish with nuts and serve warm or cold.

  1. Hai dear its very nice to see ur 100th receipe. My heartful wishes for u. And carrot halwa is favourite for my husband also. I tried it but i add little amt of sugar so sweet is very low. Any way next time i will try better. Otherwise dish is very good. Thanks u dear.
