This is a very refreshing snack, perfect for chill winter evening. This is similar to the Indian roadside snack - Thattu Vadai Set...Here I am not able to find the small thattais So I used Papdi". That's why the title Papadi Chaat. Also I used green chutney and sweet tamarind chutney. Very good n yummy with fresh carrots n beets..You can't stop with just one or two. You can find these Papdis in any Indian grocery store.
Ingredients
- Bhatura 1Packet
- Carrot 2 no.(shredded)
- Beetroot 1medium(shredded)
- Onion 1/4 finely chopped
- Lime 1.no
- Green chutney 1/4 cup or as needed
- Sweet Tamarind chutney 1/4 cup or as needed
- Tomato ketchup 1/4 cup or as needed
- Coriander leaves few finely chopped
- Corinader leaves 1bunch
- Mint leaves 1/2 bunch
- Green chillies 3-4 no.s
- Salt as needed
- Sugar 1/2 tsp
- Ginger small piece
- Lime juice 1 tsp
Sweet Tamarind chutney
This can be done using dates and without dates also.
- Tamarind lime size piece soaked in warm water.
- Dates 6-7 no.s
- Jaggery 1/4 cup or less
- Chilli powder 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Powder 1/4 tsp
- Salt/Black salt as needed
Method
Take all the items, chutneys, papdi ,carrot, beets and other items separately in a bowl .
In a serving plate, place one piece papdi...keep 1/4 tsp of green chutney, 1-2tsp carrot n beets each, few onion pieces, few drops of lime juice, 1/4 tsp tamarind chutney and cover it with another papdi with ketchup.
thats it now enjoy the Papdi filled with fresh chutney n veggies right away.
