Yesterday i tried keerai pakoda with ragi flour...my grand ma use to make keerai bonda with wheat flour,godhumai bonda,Instead of wheat i substituted with ragi and it turned out a great snack...crispy too.Its quite satisfying and guilt free snack :) And also i tried some in oven-baking.that was also good like patties and enjoyed with ketchup.
Ingredients
- Ragi flour 1 cup
- Wheat flour 2 tbsp
- Rice flour 3 tbsp
- Spinach 2 cups(finely chopped)
- Cabbage 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
- Onion 1 medium(thinly sliced)
- Ginger 2 tsp(finely chopped_
- Chilli powder 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Hing 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
- wash the veggies and chop them finely and keep aside.
- Take a mixing bowl,add all the flour,salt n dry powders stir well and add spinach,cabbage,onion,ginger and mix well.
- Using water ,make it to a thick dough.(if you want you can also add some cashew nuts,cilantro leaves).
- Heat oil in a wok for frying, when it gets hot, drop small patches of dough in to the hot oil and fry till turn crisp.
- Then remove from the oil and drain in a paper towel .
- Serve the crispy ragi keerai pakoda with a cup of hot tea/coffee.

Healthy and yummy snack looks so crispy... would be great with simple tomato ketchup...
