- Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
- Sesame seeds 1/2 tsp
- Parsley flakes 1 tsp
- Flax seeds 1 tsp(i used milled flax seeds)
- Salt 1/2 tsp or to taste
- Olive Oil 1 and 1/2 tbsp
- Yogurt/curd 1 tbsp
- Water as needed
- Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
- Line your baking tray with parchment paper and keep ready.
- Take a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients one by one from "wheat flour to salt ", mix everything well.
- Then add yogurt and mix well, and add olive oil and mix well and using water knead it to stiff n smooth dough.
- Now divide the dough in to two halves and take one half on a lightly floured surface, roll it to a 1/4" thick circle and cut to desired shape using cookie cutter or simply using a rim of the bottle cap.Prick the cut out dough with a fork.
- Then arrange the cut biscuits in to the already lined tray, do repeat the same for the other half of the dough.
- And bake it for 15-20 minutes or until it turns light golden brown n crisp.

ReplyDeleteLovely recipe, I tried and loved every bit of it. However, I would like to call out that this is not really ajwain biscuit, it's jeera biscuit. Ajwain is ova or celery seed. Nevertheless, we all enjoyed the jeera-til crackers =)

DeleteThis looks like a wonderful recipe... Can it be made in a pressure cooker with salt base as I don't have an oven?
ReplyDeleteSorry.,I haven't tried in pressure cooker. You can try with half or 1/4 of the recipe and see!
DeleteHi...I loved ur recipe and eagerly waiting to try it out...I have one doubt, can i use only wheat flour instead of the combination of wheat and maida. I also loved ur idea of adding flax seeds and parsely...very healthy and super idea...thank you and all the best with new ideas:-)
ReplyDeleteDear Sangeetha, I just went thru another site (holistic nutrition) where they say baking with ground flax seeds is wasteful since the omega 3 fatty acid is quite unstable to heat, air, and light - it causes to produce free radicals which is harmful to our bodies. So, don't you think it is better to quit flax seed during baking. Just wanted to share this information. Thank you and all the best with new ideas
