I want to make some healthy and simple recipes likes juices, salads and soups for New U event. Few days back I bought Apple pears/Asian Pears from Brennan's Market. I love to eat this fruit as such. Apple pears are crisp like apple and juicy like pears. For a change simply tried milkshake with apple pear and Dates. I also added 1/4 tsp vanilla essence and honey to make it more yummy and flavorful. It tasted divine even without a scoop of ice cream. If you buy Asian Pears next time, plz do give a try you will love it. Now to the recipe...

If needed, you can filter it using a strainer and serve it. but i think its not necessary.
Adjust milk according to desired consistency thick/thin.
add honey to taste , above mentioned quantity will give a perfect sweetness.
Ingredients
- Apple Pear/Asian Pear 1 no.(cut in to cubes)
- Dates 4 or 5 pitted
- Milk 1 cup cold milk and 1/2 cup
- Honey 1 tsp or to taste
- Vanilla eextract 1/4 tsp
- Take 1/2 cup milk add dates and microwave it for 2 minutes and left it for 15 minutes.(this helps to soften the dates n to cook lightly)
- Wash and cut apple pear in to bite size pieces and keep ready.
- Now in blender add cut pieces of apple pear ,boiled dates, vanilla essence and honey blend it until it becomes smooth paste.
- Then add remaining milk and 1 cup cold milk and blend completely.
- That's it...Serve with ice cubes or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I Enjoyed as such, it tasted Delicious!!

I have only seen green colour apple pear. Have heard abt the one what you used and never seen them. BTW, Milkshake has pleasant colour which is tempting me much.

The milk looks totally scrumptious..love the flavours in it..so healthy and refreshing as well...I so love dates in anything.
