Happy to do the Blogging Marathon # 14 again with those lovely group of friends and for this edition I chosen the theme "Whole Grain Dishes" for all seven days. So stay tuned for more healthy, wholesome and Tasty Dishes for the following seven days. I was so much attracted to the Dosa Theme but i already have few Dosa Varieties and this "Whole Grain Dishes" suits well to my "Fiber Rich Foods" event so i can link to My own event also :)
For the past 15 days, i was following some diet plan & workout and today when i checked my weight i lost 1.2lb, that sounds great na. Yes, its fine for me i don't want to be slim but want to maintain BMI so i am happy with this result and would like to continue the same. I completely stopped the intake of white rice and replaced with Brown Rice for lunch only. Instead of having plain brown rice with curry n Poriyal I tried this Tawa Pulao with more mixed vegs. This is very easy and filling recipe. I had this Tawa Puloa with cucumber raita n Cabbage bell pepper stir fry...so My lunch was so delicious n satisfying. Now to the recipe...
Ingredients
- Brown Rice (cooked) 1/2 cup (i used brown basmati rice)
- Onion 1 medium(sliced)
- Tomato 1 large (chopped)

Method
Cooking Brown rice
Soak Brown rice for minimum 4 hours and then cook with 4-5 cups of water until done, then drain the water using colander, drian completely and spread in a plate and keep aside until use.
Wash n chop veg to deisred shape n size and keep ready.
- Heat oil in a tawa, add tempering ingredients and wait till it pop.
- Then add ginger-garlic paste and saute till raw smell leaves and add onion n mint leaves and saute for 1-2 minute.
- After that add tomato and saute till it turns soft and tender.
- And then add mixed vegs n turmeric powder and saute for 1-2 minutes and then add chili n garam masala powder and stir fry in medium heat and cook covered for 3-4 minutes or until turns tender but not mushy.
- Now add cooked brown rice mix everything well and again cook covered for a minute.
- Lastly add few chopped cilantro, mix gently and leave it to set for few minutes(so that the flavors blend completely).
- That's it...Tasty Mixed Veg Brown rice Tawa Pulao ready. Serve Hot with Raitha.
Notes:
Instead of brown rice you can also use white Basmati Rice.
Use any desired vegetables, don't cut them completely maintian its crunchyness for more taste.
