Method
- Bread Slices 4 no.(I use Homemade wheat bread)
- Onion 1 medium(chopped)
- Tomato 1/2 medium(finely chopped)
- Carrot 3 tbsp(finely chopped or grated)
- Green Chilli 3 or 4 no.(slit open)
- Ginger 1/4 tsp(finely chopped)
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Cilantro few finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil 2-3 tsp
- Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
- Heat oil in a pan, when it is hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and allow to splutter then add urad dal and fry till light golden brown.
- And then add onion, green chilli and saute until onion turns soft and pink.
- After that add finely chopped tomato, carrot and stir fry and cook covered for 2-3 minutes.
- Then add turmeric powder and stir fry and add chopped bread cubes and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Finally add some chopped cilantro and few drops of lemon juice(if desired), give a nice stir and switch off the stove.
Notes:
- That's it..Simple Yet Tasty Bread Upma ready.
I used basic white bread recipe and instead of All Purpose Flour used Atta and made wheat bread.
You can use any desired vegetables, finely chopped or grated ones.
You can also add egg after vegetables, scramble it finely and add bread cubes and stir fry well and serve!
