I have already shared Paruppu Urundai Mor Kuzhambu & Pachai Urundai Moru Curry recipe and this mor kuzhambu is easy, without onion and garlic. For Padaiyal/Virunthu, we make this Mor Kuzhambu as it is without onions. This is a simple recipe with lovely flavor and taste. Here, I used White Pumpkin or Ash gourd but you can use any desired vegetable or even paruppu urundai to make this Moru Curry.
Poosanikai Mor Kuzhambu RecipePrep Time : 10 Minutes | Cook Time : 10 minutesRecipe Category : Side DishServes 3-4Ingredients
To Temper
- Slightly sour Curd 1.5 cups

Method
- Oil 1-2 tsp
- Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
- Dry Red Chilli 1 no.(broken)

- Hing a pinch
- First cook pumpkin with enough water till soft and tender or microwave for 2 minutes.
- Then beat curd/yogurt with couple of tbsp of water until smooth and creamy.
- Then in a blender add coconut, green chilli, cumin seeds, soaked rice, tuvar dal using little water to a smooth paste.
- After that heat oil in a kadai, when it is hot add mustard seeds allow to pop then add dry red chili, curry leaves, hing and fry well.
- And then add Ash gourd/Pumpkin, turmeric powder and stir fry for a minute.
- Then add ground coconut paste and add 1/2 cup water and enough salt and allow to boil.
Notes:
- Once it starts boiling, turn the heat to low and add the beaten curd and mix well and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
- That's it..Poosanikai Mor Kuzhambu ready. Garnish with Cilantro and serve warm with Plain rice.
Do not use too much Sour Curd, a day or 2 days old curd is enough. OR You can use fresh curd too.
Do not skip beating the curd, this prevent curdling and give good texture to the curry.
If using Okra/Vendakkai for this Kuzhambu, saute the okra separately in oil till it is 1/2-3/4 th cooked then add it from the 1st step.
