- Brussel Sprouts 1 lb
- Moongdal/Yellow lentil 2 tbsp
- Onion 1 medium size (chopped)
- Green chillies 3-4no.s (half slit open each)
- Curry leaves few
- Corinader leaves few(chopped)
- Coconut 2 tbsp (shredded, i used dried)
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
- Chana dal 1tbsp
- Urad dal 1/2 tbsp
- Oil 2 tsp
- Salt as needed
Cook moongdal with 1 cup or less water and with pinch of turmeric powder till it is soft and tender.
Drain the water and spread the moongdal in a plate and keep aside.(spare the drained water to use in rasam or sambar).
Heat oil in a kadai,add mustard seeds when it pop add chana dal n urad dal fry golden brown.
Add chopped onions, curry leaves and green chilies, saute till onion get light translucent.
Now add chopped brussel sprouts, turmeric powder and enough salt, mix well.
Then close it with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Open the lid and stir well, add cooked moongdal and cook in medium heat with lid open.
At last add shredded coconut stir well and remove from the stove.
That's it...Brussel Sprouts Poriyal / Stir Fry ready.

ReplyDeleteSimple and delicious stir fry with Brussel sprouts. Beautiful Presentation, Sangee!! I too make poriyal with it. But kids do not like brussel sprouts at all. So we rarely get it.
